Early Resolution Sessions
When communication has broken down, everything gets harder: the kids, the money, the house, even the simplest conversation. Our Early Resolution Sessions with our Parenting Co-Ordinator, help you understand what keeps the conflict going and give you practical tools to stay calm, set boundaries and handle difficult conversations more constructively. We’ll also look at the bigger picture.
Together we’ll narrow the issues around both parenting and property, get clear on what really needs to be resolved, and map out sensible next steps for your property settlement and parenting arrangements to strengthen the success of your mediation. You’ll walk away with a plan, a calmer head and a realistic idea of where things are heading, before costs and conflict start to climb.
Parenting Mediation - FDR
When parents separate, Family Dispute Resolution (FDR) gives you a structured, supported way to agree on arrangements for your children without going to court. Our accredited Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner stay neutral and guides you both through the key issues: living arrangements, time with each parent, schooling, holidays and how you’ll communicate going forward.
The focus throughout is on what’s best for your children. Sessions can be held together, separately or by Zoom, and screening is done before you start to make sure the process is safe for everyone. In most cases you need to attempt FDR before applying to court for parenting orders. If agreement can’t be reached, our practitioners can issue a Section 60I certificate.
Property and financial settlements
We work with both of you to reach a fair agreement about the house, super, savings and debts, without going to court. Together we’ll get clear on what’s in the pool, explore the options, and work towards an arrangement you can both live with. We also explain when to get independent legal advice and how to make your agreement binding.
Co-parenting Co-ordination
Practical support for parents who want to put their children first, even while living apart. It starts with an Early Settlement Session, where we narrow the issues that matter most, work out where you already agree, and build a clear path forward before conflict has a chance to escalate.
From there, ongoing coordination helps you communicate with your ex calmly and constructively, manage handovers and day-to-day tension, and keep the children out of the middle. You’ll learn strategies for riding over the inevitable speed bumps of co-parenting without harming the children or your own wellbeing.
